We are SLEEPER: we hand-roll and bake fresh bagels every morning from Monday to Saturday, then pack them with delicious fillings and sell them from our bakery and cafe on Kings Road in the heart of St Leonards-on-Sea.
SLEEPER was founded by Jane and Nick (that’s them in the pictures) who had long held dreams of running their own bakery: after many years living in and around London they finally returned to Nick’s childhood roots on the Sussex coast, and opened SLEEPER’s doors in September 2020. Our team has grown in size since those early days, but you’ll still spot Jane and Nick busy in the bakery or behind the counter serving coffee.
SLEEPER starts early (before the seagulls wake): we freshly bake each batch of bagels every morning that the bakery is open. Our breakfast offerings include fillings of free-range eggs, bacon, sausages and smoked salmon, while our lunch menu contains classics such as salt beef with mustard, or salmon and cream cheese – all with our own SLEEPER twist, of course.
